Health summit gets Intervate sponsorship

Intervate is proud to be a sponsor of the 4th Annual Healthcare Summit, hosted by the IIR. As a specialist and leading provider of imaging and capture solutions, Intervate, in partnership with Kofax, provides healthcare practitioners, government and medical insurance providers with automated solutions that provide meaningful impact/benefits to their business and peace of mind to patients.

“We believe our sponsorship of the Healthcare Summit is a great fit for our business and the innovative health information systems and software solutions we provide. These solutions are designed to improve customer service and the overall patient and customer experience by addressing the issues of patient information going missing and simplifying the access to and processing of patient files. And we are excited to showcase the latest technology innovations available to the healthcare industry, such as mobile capture,” says Gia Thom, Imaging & Capture Solutions Business Development Manager.

According to Thom, Intervate is placing more emphasis on providing solutions for the medical industry, realising the urgent need for streamlined and automated IT systems to improve healthcare services and compliance with local legislation such as the National Archive of South Africa (NARS) Act and Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA).

Printing, shipping, storing and retrieving paper documents is not only costly but also makes it impossible to share and access real-time information, hampering medical practitioners in making informed healthcare decisions. Using the Intervate/Kofax solution, healthcare organisations can optimise processing of claims and admission forms, medical records and invoices. This helps to not only increase efficiency and to reduce cost, but is a key enabler to move from paper health records to electronic health records.

“With Kofax, any patient or health-related document, complex forms, test reports, prescriptions, health payers' documentation, patient inquiries, and images like MRT or x-rays are captured at the point of entry and routed to the point of care. Our secure and traceable ingestion of data into relevant HIS systems and into key processes ensures compliance with data privacy and data protection regulations,” says Thomas S Senger, Senior Vice-President, EMEA Software & Solutions at Kofax.

“We know that in the healthcare industry, better information means better decisions. Our unified platform allows for the fast and easy processing of documents in original paper format, e-mail, fax, SMS and even mobile devices, providing accurate information so that healthcare professionals can make better decisions faster,” says Intervate’s Thom.

The summit takes place from 28 to 31 January 2013, and will be held at Convention Dynamics, Isando, Johannesburg. For further information on how to attend the event, please contact Talia Farber at
