Broad based black economic empowerment (BB-BEE)
Over the past several years we have made steady progress in fulfilling the formal requirements for BEE certification and currently hold a Level 5 BEE Contributor rating for the year 2009 / 2010.
Intervate is committed to a process of transformation that addresses the

imbalances within South Africa caused by the legacy of apartheid that left millions of historically disadvantaged individuals (HDI) disempowered. Intervate is committed to the process of black economic empowerment (BEE) and fully supportive of Government's transformation objectives and initiatives. Furthermore, Intervate is committed to the tenets laid out in the BEE and Information Communication Technology (ICT) Charters, the Electronic Communications and Transactions (ECT) Act and all other relevant legislation. As part of this commitment to the process of transformation, Intervate has implemented policies and procedures to successfully manage its BEE process and ensure all BEE targets are achieved.
Social Responsibility
Intervate’s passion for people extends further than its corporate boundaries into the areas of social responsibility and enterprise development, which is why we scored full points for socio economic and enterprise development in the 2009 / 2010 BBBEE assessment. Intervate views socio-economic development as a key investment in developing the South African economy. The requirement for social responsibility and corporate social investment projects within the South African context is unmistakable - particularly as evidenced by the growing need to bridge this country's digital divide. Intervate stands firm in the belief that it should be a business imperative for South African organisations within all sectors, to contribute to the economic stability of South Africa and the development of the growth potential which the country holds. Thus, Intervate is involved in various on-going as well as once off corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Learnership Program
Intervate has undertaken and implemented a learnership programme each year since 1999. These formal and SETA accredited learnership programmes are aimed at providing Historically Disadvantaged Individuals with NQF5 level training and relevant real world experience. Intervate has employed 50% of these learners as permanent employees and continues supporting their career development into specialised areas.
